2008: The begin of the end of the oil age

The mass production of plug-in hybrid cars has started!

But not in France, since my visit on the EVER Monaco 2007 was the Renault Kangoo Cleanova II the most promising candidate for the first plug-in hybrid car in mass production.

Also not GM. GM just stoped the construction of a planned factory for motors for the Chevrolet Volt Plug-in Hybrid.

The message is from BYD in China. BYD purchased 2003 a car factory to realize big plans about electric mobility., just after GM celebrated the the destruction of the last EV1.

All indicators show the same: 2008 will be in the history books as the begin of the end of the oil age. The events from 2008 bring a new intelligence test for politics and economy: How many cycles "Oil price explosion, recession, breakdown of oil demand and oil price" are necessary, until a real huge change change to renewable energy?

Plug-in Hybrid serial production starts
	Monday December 15th: BYD announces the start of the mass production of the plug-in hybrid car BYD F3DM. The sales price in China is $22.000 (15.000 EUR).

First Solar in Germany by Juwi
	Matthias Willenbacher, founder of Juwi is not only the first Tesla owner in Germany, he brings also the cheap First Solar CdTe thin film cells to Germany.

Mass suitable electric vehicles
	While the other exhibits by price or target group are only for a narrow market, this electric scooters are effordable electric mobility for anyone.

2008 The begin of the end of the oil age
	Many indicators show a clear result: In the history books will be the year 2008 chained to the begin of the end of the oil age.
